About Chris Baldwin

Category: main menu

Briefly, I am 33 years old, have a PhD in a science discipline and started SEO/Online marketing back in 1996. I currently spend most of my time online working on different projects related to search engines and all aspects of online marketing.

Going back (this description comes directly from my PhD thesis):

Chris BaldwinChris Baldwin (full name: Christopher Eric Baldwin) was born on the 28th of November 1974 in Port Vila, Vanuatu, which is a group of islands located in the South Pacific Ocean, about three-quarters of the way from Hawaii to Australia. After a fairly turbulent childhood of tropical island living and extensive traveling between France, Australia and Vanuatu (French mother and Australian father), he commenced secondary schooling as a boarder (living on campus) at the prestigious Brisbane Grammar School in Brisbane, Australia. After completing secondary schooling in 1993 he worked full-time at Pizza Hut as assistant manager before commencing his university studies at Queensland University of Technology in 1995, where he undertook a double major in Biotechnology and Microbiology. He graduated at the top of his class with outstanding grades and was accepted into the highly regarded Honors project. His Honors project was in the area of Molecular Biology under the supervision of Professor Adrian Herrington where he worked on gene expression in mammalian cells. Chris Baldwin graduated from his Honors project with first class honors. He was also offered numerous scholarships during his undergraduate years.

Chris Baldwin then migrated to Amsterdam, the Netherlands, where he commenced his PhD project under the supervision of Professor Ben Berkhout and Professor Joep Lange in the area of HIV / AIDS research at the Laboratory of Experimental Virology at the Academic Medical Center of the University of Amsterdam. His research focus was on HIV-1 entry and inhibitors that block the virus from entering the cell.

Beside his PhD study, Chris Baldwin has been heavily involved in a demanding sporting carrier where he rowed at top level and won highly regarded international regattas such as the Henley Royal Regatta in 2004 and the Heineken Roeivierkamp in 2005. Due to heavy sporting commitments, Chris Baldwin was forced to change his PhD project contract to a part-time basis from 2004-2006, which provided the time necessary for a twice daily training regime.

Besides a demanding research project and sporting carrier, Chris Baldwin also operates a number of successful and rapidly growing Internet businesses. Chris Baldwin started his online adventure in the mid 1990’s and has ever since been very active online, mainly with optimizing websites for search engines in order to acquire more visitors for greater readership of the material he published. It was not until early in the year 2000 that these search engine optimization skills also started to take on a financial face. Search engine marketing and other online marketing strategies started to take on a larger focus and with the SEO skills it became very easy to achieve online return on investment (ROI).
