I will be attending Friends of Search 2017 this week in Amsterdam. It is the largest search marketing event in the Netherlands and I really enjoyed last years show (although I could only attend the morning sessions due to a new client pitch in the afternoon – which we won!).
Looks like an interesting line-up of speakers and sessions this year.
Kicking off the day as keynote speaker is the famous Gary Illyes from Google who will talk about what’s new with Google search and what we should expect in 2017. Marty Weintraub (CEO at aimClear), will then talk about psychographics targeting, which looks at Interests, Attitudes, and Opinions (also called IAO variables) and likely talk about enriching advertising campaigns with psychographic metrics, which can be a powerful way to deliver more meaningful advertising.
In a parallel session Kate Adams from Google will take the stage to talk about AI first at Google. Its been some time now since Google transformed from a mobile-first to an AI-first company. Everything Google does now needs to be AI-first. Kate will likely talk about the role the Google assistant and the pixel phone will play in the lives of Google users. I am probably going to attends Kate’s session as this is a topic I am following very closely.
After lunch, there is a very packed agenda. Since I am going with 2 of my colleagues who are both SEA experts and will likely attend all the parallel SEA sessions, I will keep to the SEO sessions since that is also my area of expertise. Why pay Google when you can get it for free right? 😉
Looking forward to the day! If you want to catch-up just hit me up on social media.
